Kaiwei Guo

Kaiwei Guo, a Chinese young pianist, was born in 1998. He is currently studying for his Artist Diploma in Piano Performance, as well as attained Master’s Degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS). As a full scholarship student, Kaiwei is under the tutelage of Fali Pavri.

Before coming to Glasgow, Kaiwei studied as an undergraduate student at the Art College of Xiamen University, won many competitions and performed in China and abroad. He was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall as the first prize winner of the 2019 KIMI International Music Competition. Besides, he also held several solo piano recitals in China, repertoire ranging from Baroque to 21th Century.

Kaiwei currently performs mainly in Scotland. Already in his first year of the RCS, he has performed Beethoven Piano Concerto No.5 and two piano solo recitals in Stevenson Concert Hall and Ledger Recital Room. Kaiwei has a series of forthcoming engagements this year including Piano Concerto in A Minor by Grieg, 24 preludes by Chopin.
